"Pastelle Leblanc is someone I always looked up to, even though she was a few years younger than I.  She was gifted and she was kind, and her beauty lives on in the music she created with her band Vishtèn, and in the love she left behind.  My heart forever goes out to her sister Emmanuelle, her partner Pascal, her parents, and all of the many loved ones who were blessed to know her.

This painting came to me on the day of her passing, and as the layers of paint revealed themselves through the softest pastel colours, some of which I rarely used, it felt magical to suddenly imagine that this possibly could have been what Pastelle saw in the moment of her divine transformation.  Whatever the full meaning may be for each of us,  for me, what I saw brought me a sense of comfort and calm. Something so beautiful. I hope the image in this painting brings the same feelings of serenity for you."
